Something Taken and the Something Returned are wonderfully books that I recommend definitely reading together. Through the author's eyes, Terry tells a story that is raw, dark and woven with hope. The journey is one of redemption, self-forgiveness, and how the roles women live at different stages in their lives really is often determined by circumstance and survival.I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I'm a great fan of Jerrie Brock's writing and she doesn't disappoint in this follow up to Something Taken. In Something Returned we rejoin Terry many years after the events of Something Taken. Terry has built a new life for herself, she has a loving husband, a family, things all seem to be going well until she receives a note that turns her world upside down. The case has been reopened and they are on to her!
How can she tell her husband that their life together is based on a lie? Will he abandon her or will he stick with her? Will she be found guilty of murder? A real page turner!
The final chapters were captivating and I was able to read through quickly...the beginning moved too slowly with too many mundane statements.
Although I didn't read the first of the series,this was a really great book. I would recommend reading something taken.before reading something returned.I didn't realize this was a series when started
Great sequel go Something Taken. I guess there is another book in this series Something Broken. Sure hope it is soon.
Sometimes the story is dragged, but it got to me right from the start and I just couldn't wait getting time to read on!!! Romance, detective, family-life, love, thrilling, amazing... One warning though not for readers with issues on secual abuse, I could hardly cope with that part and had to read though that a little faster.
A highly descriptive novel but found that the storyline moved rather slowly. Certainly an insight into the inadequacies of the US justice system. Rather sobering and a bit depressing though quite well-written..
This story follows Brock's debut novel SOMETHING TAKEN. Terry is a quarter of a century older and has another name, a loving husband, and children. ...and then an anonymous note comes in familiar writing warning her that her dead case may be reopened.
Her correspondent was right.
What would happen if your deepest secret was laid bare to your loved ones? What would they do if they knew your true past? Can love survive such an upheaval?
